Endlich heißt es wieder „Friday I´m in love“! Und ja, wir drehen wieder das Q&A Karussell und präsentieren euch eure Favoriten. 

Heute sind wir international vertreten und unser Blick schweift in Richtung Nordosten Italiens. Demis aus Trieste ist heute auf unserer Blogbühne zu Gast und verrät euch seine Lieblingsjacken und mehr. Sein sympathisches Fanzine und Label wird vermutlich den meisten von euch ein Begriff sein, hatten wir uns ja bereits mit unserem Amico aus Triest in einem ausführlichen Interview zu Profilo Basso auf unserem Blog beschäftigt.

Dein Vorname

Mein Name ist Demis, ich bin 37 Jahre alt und komme aus Triest. Eine Stadt im Nordosten Italiens.

Welches „Baujahr“ steht in deinem Ausweis?

Wie ich oben geschrieben habe, bin ich 1985 geboren.

Wie bist du mit der Casual Culture in Kontakt gekommen?

In den ersten Jahren des neuen Jahrtausends kam ich mit der Casual Culture in Berührung. Während meiner Reisen in Großbritannien war ich von einigen tadellos gekleideten Jungs fasziniert. Von da an interessierte ich mich für das Thema und vertiefte es in Büchern und natürlich im Internet. Hier in Italien war es immer noch etwas Unbekanntes, nur wenige kannten es.

Wie würdest du deinen eigenen Stil beschreiben?

Smart but casual.

Bist du bei den Spielen deines Vereins immer in der Kurve anzutreffen?

In letzter Zeit gehe ich nur noch sehr selten oder nur zu besonderen Anlässen ins Stadion. Jahrelang war ich fleißig im Stadion, sowohl bei Heim- als auch bei Auswärtsspielen (und habe oft kein einziges ausgelassen); und ich kann weit über hundert zählen.  

Wie ich oben geschrieben habe, gehe ich derzeit nur noch sehr selten ins Stadion; inzwischen hat sich die Art und Weise, wie ich die Kurve erlebe, verändert, und die Repression hat mich vertrieben. Ich bin froh, dass ich die letzten guten Jahre erlebt habe.

Dein Lieblingsstadion? (neben deinem Club)

Ich habe das Stadion „Alberto Braglia“ in Modena immer gemocht. Kürzlich haben sie es leider modernisiert. Es sah wie ein englisches Stadion im Stadtzentrum aus. Der einzige wunde Punkt war, dass es kein Dach hatte und ich oft im Regen stand, um das Spiel zu sehen.

Wie sieht dein typischer Ablauf am Spieltag aus?

Normalerweise bereite ich mein Outfit am Vorabend vor, esse vor dem Anpfiff zu Mittag und gehe dann rechtzeitig zum Stadion, um mich auf das Spiel vorzubereiten.

Dein bevorzugtes Bier?

Auf diese Frage kann ich ehrlich gesagt keine Antwort geben, denn es gibt so viele Biersorten und Brauereien, dass es für mich sehr kompliziert wäre, euch eine zu nennen.

Welche ist deine Lieblingsjacke? (In deinem Besitz und dein Holy Grail)

Ohne Zweifel Barbour. Es ist eine meiner Lieblingsmarken wegen der Qualität und der Präzision der Details. Ich habe viele Barbour Jacken (und ich werde mir definitiv noch mehr zulegen). Mein Favorit ist die Ashby Jacket.  

Gibt es vielleicht eine besondere Errungenschaft, auf die du ganz besonders stolz bist?

So zu sein wie ich bin. 

Welche Marken kicken dich aktuell am meisten?

In letzter Zeit trage ich viele Marken wie Vans, Carhartt, Berghaus, und ich warte darauf, dass die Temperaturen fallen, damit ich die Barbour-Jacken aus dem Schrank holen kann.

Wie sah dein letztes Matchday Outfit aus?

Converse Sneakers,  Carhartt Shorts, Vans T-Shirt and Berghaus Windbreaker.

Was sind deine Top3 Sneaker/Trainer?

2 – Clark’s Weaver Boot

Welche Bands und Künstler finden wir auf deiner Awaydays-Playlist?

Ich werde nur die folgenden Post-Punk-Bands erwähnen: Life, Fontaines D.C., Do Nothing, Viagra Boys, Shame, The Murder Capital, Yard Act, Iceage usw.

Welche Film- und Serienempfehlung gibst du uns mit auf den Weg?

Wenn ich einen Film erwähnen müsste, würde ich natürlich „The Football Factory“ empfehlen.

Bei den Serien führt kein Weg an „Top Boy“ auf Netflix vorbei.

Buch und Kultur: Was sind hier deine Favoriten?

„Casuals“ von Phil Thorton natürlich. Die ersten Werke von Irvine Welsh und die John King Trilogie: „The Football Factory“, „England Away“ und „White Trash“.

Finally it’s „Friday I’m in love“ again! Do you know what that means? That’s right, we’re spinning the Q&A carousel again and presenting your favourites.

Today we are represented internationally and our gaze wanders towards the north-east of Italy. Demis from Trieste is a guest on our blog stage today and reveals his favourite jackets and more. Most of you will probably be familiar with his friendly fanzine and label, as we had already dealt with our amico from Trieste in a detailed interview on Profilo Basso on our blog.

Your first name?

My name is Demis, I’m 37 years old and come from Trieste. A city based in the North-East of Italy. 

What is the „year of construction“ on your passport?

As I wrote above I was born in 1985.

Your club?

Unione Sportiva Triestina 1918. 

How did you get in touch with casual culture?

I came into contact with casual culture in the early years of the new millennium. During my travels in Uk I was fascinated by some impeccably dressed lads. From there I became interested, delving into the subject in books and of course online. Here in Italy it was still something unknown except for rare cases. 

How would you describe your own style?

Smart but casual.

Can you always be found in the stand / curva at your club’s matches?

Lately I go to the stadium very little, or only on special occasions. For years I have attended the stadium assiduously, both home and away (often not skipping a single one); and I can count well over a hundred to my credit.  

As I wrote above I currently go very little to the stadium; by now the way of experiencing the curve has changed, and repression has pushed me away. I am glad to have experienced the last few good years. 

Your favourite stadium? (next to your club)

I have always liked the Modena’s Stadium „Alberto Braglia“; now they have modernized it.  I liked it a lot years ago; it looked like an English stadium in the center of town. The only sore point was that it had no roof and I often caught rain to watch the game.

What is your typical match day routine?

I usually prepare clothing to wear the night before; have lunch well in advance of kick-off and then go to the stadium well in advance for the pre-match. 

Your favourite beer?

To this question I honestly could not answer there are so many types of beers and breweries that to tell you one would be really complicated for me. 

What is your favourite jacket? (In your possession and your Holy Grail)

Barbour without a doubt. It’s one of my favorite brands because of the quality and precision detailing. I have many of Barbour Jacket (and more I will definitely get). My favorite is the Ashby Jacket.  

Is there perhaps a special achievement you are particularly proud of?

Be who I am. 

What brands are you most excited about at the moment?

Lately I’ve been wearing a lot of brands like Vans, Carhartt, Berghaus, and I’m waiting for the degrees to drop so I can get the Barbour jackets out of the closet.

If I have to mention a movie I would say to you „The Football Factory“, about a serie I recommend you „Top Boy“ on Netflix.

Casuals of Phil Thorton of course, the first books of Irvine Welsh and the John King trilogy: Fedeli alla Tribù (The Football Factory), Fuori Casa (England Away), Smaltimento Rifiuti (White Trash).
