Die Werke von Alex, so sein richtiger Vorname, sind in den vergangenen Woche zu häufig kopiert worden, so dass er sich dazu entschlossen hat, sämtliche Comic Strips aus den öffentlichen Plattformen zu entfernen und seine Instagram Seite auf privat zu setzen.
Vom Spieltag bis hin zum Pub Besuch, zeigt Duck Situationen, die manchmal überspitzt oder skurril und fast immer mit explicit lyrics festgehalten worden sind. Sapeur OSB introduces Casual Harvey.

Gude Alex, stell dich doch bitte einmal kurz unseren Lesern vor.
Hallo, mein Name ist Alex Plunkett. Ich bin ein Tätowierer und Illustrator und lebe in Barcelona.
Wie bist du auf die Idee zu Casual Harvey gekommen? Und wann war der Moment als du damit begonnen hast, eigene Comic Strips zu zeichnen?
Ich wollte schon immer ein Comic machen, hatte jedoch eigentlich nie so recht eine Idee wer die Hauptfigur sein soll und welche Geschichte erzählt werden sollten.
Ich bin der Typ, der seinen Freunden im Pub auf den Geist geht und ständig darüber spricht, wie bescheuert und falsch der moderne Fußball ist. So ist im Grunde die Idee entstanden, ein Comic über die Dinge zu machen, die ich liebe und lustig finde.
Da haben wir etwas gemeinsam. Sag mal, besuchst du heute immer noch regelmäßig die Spiele deines Teams? Oder anders gefragt, woher nimmst du die Inspiration zu den Geschichten, die du mit Casual Harvey erzählst?
Ich besuche immer noch die Spiele im Stadion und liebe einfach jede Art von Fußball…erste Liga, zweite Liga, was auch immer. Aber es stört mich einfach massiv, dass man kein Bier mehr in den Stadien trinken darf, da es in Spanien absolut verboten ist. Selbst das Anfeuern wird teilweise unterdrückt. Ich habe immer mehr das Gefühl, dass man bei uns alles daransetzt, um gegen die Fans zu arbeiten.
Deine Zeichnungen sind auch der Musik zugewandt, was uns natürlich auch sehr gefällt. Welche Songs und Interpreten könnten wir auf einer Casual Harvey Playlist finden?
Hahaha Punk, Oi!, Ska, aber es spielt eigentlich keine Rolle welche Musikrichtung ich darstellen möchte. Ich will zeigen, dass es neben dem Fußball und Bier noch andere Dinge gibt, zu der man eine große Leidenschaft pflegt.
Wie würdest du deinen eigenen Stil beschreiben?
Nun, die Leute sagen, dass es sie an Reg Smythe erinnert, aber ich denke, dass sie „Andy Capp“ noch nie in ihrem Leben gelesen haben. Ich würde sagen, meine Comics sind am franko-belgischen Stil angelehnt, aber ich habe ihn über die Jahre zu meinem persönlichen Stil adaptiert oder besser gesagt, weiterentwickelt.
Harvey ist selbstverständlich ein Mitglied der Casual Szene. Wie sehen denn deine Verbindungen zur Subkultur aus?
Ich habe viele Freunde, die in dieser Szene aktiv sind und so bin ich in gewisser Weise ebenfalls ein Teil davon. Aber was mir am besten daran gefällt, ist die Geschichte und das Erbe dieser Subkultur.
Großbritannien ist reich an Subkulturen. Es gibt unter anderem die Skins, Mods und Rude Boys. Warum hast du dich in diesem Fall für die Casual Culture entschieden?
Wenn er Skinhead wäre, könnte der Erzählstil zu aggressiv sein. Wenn er ein Punk wäre, hätte ich ihn politisieren müssen. Mods sind Cunts. Es passt einfach besser ihn als Casual dazustellen. Semi Skinhead, semi Mod, semi Punk, Fußball und noch mehr Fußball, dazu Fred Perry, adidas und ende.
Alex, ich habe da gerade so ganz verrückte Ideen im Kopf. Vielleicht sollten wir auch ein Comic zusammen machen.

What a pity. Unfortunately we missed the perfect moment to present Casual Harvey from the sketchbook of Duck Plunkett. The illustrations of Alex, his real first name, have been copied too often in the past weeks, so he decided to remove all comic strips from the public platforms and set his Instagram page to private.
His comic stripes inspire us and in his stories, we find ourselves in some form. From Matchday to pub visits, sometimes captured through explicit lyrics or bizarre situations. Sapeur OSB introduces Casual Harvey.
Hi Duck, I don´t know many things about you. So please introduce yourself to our reader.
Hi! My Name is Alex Plunkett Im a tattoo artist and ilustrator, and I live in Barcelona
How did you developed Casual Harvey and what was the moment to start with your own comic strips?
I always wanted to do a comic but I never knew the subject or what to talk about. I’m the typical one that bother their friends in the pub talking about how bullshit the modern football is, and the idea came out of there. Do a comic about the things that I love and are funny.
Are your going to the football grounds and pubs? Or other way asked, from where do you get your inspiration?
I like to go the ground and see any type of football (first league, second or whatever) bur pissed me off that you can’t drink beer or shout there (in Spain it’s totally prohibited to drink alcohol in the stadiums) cause I have the feeling that all it’s make to go against the fans.
Your comics are also deep into the music. What songs and artist can we find on Casual Harvey´s favourite playlist?
Hahaha punk, oi!, ska, doesn’t matter, what I want to represent in my comics with the music is that exist more things apart from football and beer, you can have other passions.
How would you describe your style?
Well…people say that is like Reg Smythe, but I think that they have never read „Andy Capp“ in their life…my draw kind of style is very franco/belgian, I read a lot of comics in this style during my life so I have adapted it to my own personal style
Harvey is of course part of the football casual scene. What is your relation to the terrace?
I have friends inside the football supporters so I’m a part of it in one way or another. But what I like the most is the history of the movement.
Britain is rich for his subcultures as they have the Skins, Mods, Rude Boys, etc. Why did you choose for Harvey the casual culture?
If he was a skinhead will be too aggresive, if it was a punk it forces you to politicize him, mods are cunts and what better fits him was a casual, semi skinhead, semi mod, semi punk, football and more football, fred perry, adidas and nothing more
